Suncheon City, prize awarded from the South Korean President 순천시 생생도시상 수상

순천시가 2010년 2월 3일 세계 습지의 날 행사에 특별한 상을 받았다. 또한 녹색 성장 프리젠테이션 보고회에서 우리나라 232개 도시 중 최고의 녹색도시로 선정되었다.
On February 3rd, 2010, Suncheon City was awarded a special prize at the World Wetland Day. Besides delivering a unique presentation on Green Growth, Suncheon was also chosen as the most advanced “green-city” competing with 232 other Korean cities.
순천시는 순천만을 잘 보존할 뿐만 아니라 2013년도에 국제정원박람회를 주최하여 다른 도시들에게 모범을 보이고 있다.
Suncheon therefore is currently acting as role-model to other cities in its ways of preserving the Suncheon Bay Wetland, as well as its role in hosting the International Garden Expo in 2013.이러한 노력을 통해 순천시는 시민들에게 녹색 직업을 제공하고 있으며 에너지 절약, 친환경 교통수단, 재활용 등의 녹색 정책을 실시하고 있다.
Through its efforts, Suncheon is generating and providing lots of “green” jobs for its citizens. The City Administration is also vigorously implementing “green” policies such as energy saving, non-pollutant transportation, recycling, to mention but a few.
