The Bureau International des Expositions (International Exhibitions Bureau) regulates the frequency and quality of exhibitions falling within its remit.This may simply be defined as covering all international exhibitions of a non-commercial nature (other than fine art exhibitions) with a duration of more than three weeks, which are officially organised by a nation and to which invitations to other nations are issued through diplomatic channels.

CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) is an international agreement between governments. Its aim is to ensure that international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants does not threaten their survival.

This website was developed as part of the Delivering Alien Invasive Species In Europe (DAISIE) project funded by the sixth framework programme of the European Commission (Contract Number: SSPI-CT-2003-511202). It provides a ‘one-stop-shop’ for information on biological invasions in Europe, delivered via an international team of leading experts in the field of biological invasions, latest technological developments in database design and display, and an extensive network of European collaborators and stakeholders.

EPPO is an intergovernmental organization responsible for European cooperation in plant health. Its objectives are to protect plants, to develop international strategies against the introduction and spread of dangerous pests and to promote safe and effective control methods.

One aspect of indoor air quality that’s received minimal attention to-date is the impact of plants on the removal of carbon dioxide, but three industry organizations have collaborated to shed some light on that benefit in a research project titled “Project” Carbon. The National Foliage Foundation (NFF) will fund the project.

The aim of the ISHS is “to promote and to encourage research in all branches of horticulture and to facilitate cooperation of scientific activities and knowledge transfer on a global scale by means of its publications, events and scientific structure". Membership is open to all interested horticultural researchers, students and organizations.

The International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV) is an intergovernmental organization with headquarters in Geneva (Switzerland). UPOV was established by the International Convention for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants. The objective of the Convention is the protection of new varieties of plants by an intellectual property right.
